Nuremberg Kaiserburg

In Middle Ages the Imperial Castle was one of the most important imperial palaces of the Holy Roman Empire. In the imperial living and representing rooms the old wood panelings from the Middle Ages and Renaissance have been preserved partly.

The exhibition was redesigned in 2013. In the new presentation of the castle not only existence and function of the Imperial Castle in its historical context are explained, but interesting facts about the Holy Roman Empire of German Nation and Nuremberg’s part in the late Middle Ages are also explained comprehensibly to young and old in an exiting and inspiring way.

German National Museum Nuremberg

The German National Museum Nuremberg is the biggest historico-cultural museum in the whole German language area. It sets standards for museums due to its scientific competence and is known as a reliable reference in the museum landscape.

Besides the collections, a historic archive, the German Arts Archive, a coin collection and a graphic collection belong to the 23 museum sections. The scientific special library includes over 650,000 volumes to European art and cultural history and is accessible to the public.
